Class A Outing

On 20th February, the Class A students went on their first outing of the year to the Bamboo Resource Centre, Sovima. It was a day filled with joy, curiosity, and memorable learning experiences.

The children were thrilled right from the start as they boarded the bus. The bus ride itself became an exciting adventure. Along the way, their excitement grew as they eagerly pointed out everything they saw. When they spotted the flowing river, Mhali excitedly said, “Miss, look! Big water!” As the bus crossed the train tracks, Eli quickly pointed outside and exclaimed, “Miss, train will come here!” When an ambulance passed by with its siren, Imlo covered his ears and said, “Miss, ambulance sound is so loud!” The sight of army trucks also caught their attention, and Alisen pointed and said, “Miss, so many army truck!” which added to the excitement.

Upon arrival, the children explored the beautifully designed bamboo pavilion, where they learned about bamboo as a natural resource. They were fascinated by the bamboo musical instruments and enjoyed observing the unique sounds they could produce. When one of the instruments was played, Mhali clapped her hands and said, “Miss, bamboo is making music!”

One of the highlights of the visit was the small model village made entirely out of bamboo. Looking at the tiny houses, Lenti curiously asked, “Miss, baby people live here?” which made everyone smile.

The students also had the opportunity to walk through the bamboo groves, experiencing nature up close. Looking up at the tall bamboo, Vikupu said with wide eyes, “Miss, bamboo is sooooo tall!” The children happily posed for pictures, capturing precious memories with their friends and teachers.

The outing concluded with a mini picnic in the open air, where the children relaxed, shared snacks, and enjoyed the fresh surroundings. While sitting together with their friends, Mhali happily said, “Miss, picnic is my favourite!”

The trip was safely and smoothly conducted with the support of 12 teachers and 6 non-teaching staff, who ensured the well-being and comfort of every child throughout the day.

Overall, the outing was a truly enriching experience that beautifully blended fun, exploration, and meaningful learning. It provided the children with an opportunity to step outside the classroom and connect their lessons with the real world around them. The students not only learned about bamboo and its many uses but also developed observation skills, social interaction, and an appreciation for nature. The day strengthened friendships, encouraged teamwork, and created precious memories that the children will cherish for a long time. Indeed, it was a memorable and successful first excursion of the year for the students of Class A, setting a positive and enthusiastic tone for many more learning adventures ahead.
