Around the World in a Day 7th July 2023

It is so important to teach our preschoolers that there is a great big world beyond their home and backyard. Traveling to other countries with preschoolers can be challenging, so the next best thing is to bring other countries to our preschoolers. “Around the world in a day” event takes children on a journey around the world! Each country has something different to share: geography, culture, dance, tourist attractions, interesting facts and music too.

Not only is this event designed to help the students learn about different parts of the world, but it also designed to help them understand different cultures.
The students gain a better understanding of cultural differences and how they impact our lives. They focus on celebrating similarities between cultures rather than emphasizing differences.
The around the world event for 2023 was held on 7th July hosted by Class B students. The chairperson was Miss Nzanbeni Ngullie. Altogether there were 15 countries where 10 countries displayed their fluency in singing, dancing and cultural show on stage while the remaining 5 countries held an exhibition with handmade models of different categories of each country.

One of the most exciting annual events “Around the World in a Day” was hosted by the Class B students on 6th July 2022 at the school hall. All the students from all the five sections enthusiastically participated in this event. The event is held every year with the motive to allow the students to learn about the various cultures, languages, sports, currencies, cuisines etc. from around the world. It is indeed an eye-opener for the students to learn about the different countries of the world. The event provides an opportunity for the students to show cast their different talents and abilities.

The event was hosted by Miss Nzanbeni Ngullie, Class Teacher of Class A (Great Bears). She welcomed the parents and expressed gratitude for their presence in the event. She also gave a brief introduction of all the countries as the students went up on the stage to give their performance. The event started with an invocation prayer by Miss Lhingneichin Roselyn, Class Teacher of Smart Earthlings.

Through this event, the students get to learn about the different countries. It enlightens them with the different cultures, language and expands their general knowledge on different countries. They become aware that beyond the classroom learning, there is a world to explore for them. The positive outcome through this presentation are boosting their stage confidence, discovering their capabilities and learning perseverance. It is also a fun and entertaining event where they enjoy learning by doing which instills in them euphoria of limitless learning.

Each student said a few lines about the food, the flag, the currencies, sports etc on the countries they were representing which was supported by a slide presentation. The students gave a glimpse of the cultures, food, famous personalities with the help of models and pictorial representation. Each student said few lines to give an insight about the countries that they represented. They were all very audible and confident and were more happy to give their presentations.

For the exhibition, each student was given a specific topic and each of them was holding the pointer and explaining by pointing at their pictorial models to the visitors that came to their stalls. They were fully into their character as a citizen of that particular country they were representing. Each class had five to six stalls on various topics such as the flora and fauna, festivals, tourist attractions, famous cities etc. It was a very interesting as well as informative. I’m sure each parent or visitor got to learn something new and interesting from each of the stalls they visited.

The program ended with a benediction by Miss Eunice Chen, Class Teacher of Class A (Blue Dolphin).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
